Theme

The book Flipped is a book that switches from Bryce's to Juli's view. Bryce Loski and Juli baker meet for the first time in 2nd grade and Juli flipped as soon as she saw Bryce. Juli liked Bryce up until she found out about a few cruel things he did including: throwing out the eggs she generously donated to him, and making fun of her mental Uncle. At the end Bryce flips for Juli but she no longer likes him. He tries to kiss her, but she pushes him away. She locks herself in her room, and won't come out because Bryce is following her and trying to talk to her. He even went aroud the back and kept knocking on the window of her bedroom.Bryce tries to prove himself to Juli at the end by planting a type of tree that was Juli's favorite tree: a sycamore tree. Juli starts reconsidering Bryce and figures she will go talk to him. And then the story ends at that.

Whats Happening Now

Right Now Juli's feeling are all mixed up because she heard Bryce talking bad about her uncle because he is mentally challenged. Her feelings for him changed and she is no longer obsessed with him. And Bryce's feeling are also changing now that he has actually looked at her and thinks that she is actually kind of cute. But he never noticed because he was always running away and hiding from her. And now he is chasing after her and he even tried to kiss her in front of the whole school. She of course ran away from him back home feeling all weird because she thought Bryce didn't like her and she didn't know what to do so she tries to avoid him as much as she can.

entry 4

"A painting is more than the sum of the parts, go on to explain how the cow itself is just a cow, and the meadow by itself is just grass and flowers, and the sun peeking through the trees is just a beam of light, but put them all together and you’ve got magic" said by juli's dad in the story when he was talking to her about one of his paintings. We think he means that a cow is just a cow until you put something with it to make it special, like a field or a hat with a flower on it.

The Problem They Face

The problem that Bryce and Juli are facing is that their feelings are changing. Bryce thought that Juli was crazy but in eighth grade his feeling change for her and he starts to like her more and more. Juli was madly in love with Bryce or was it just his blue eyes? But now her feelings have changed for him too. Bryce hurt her feelings and now she doesn't care about him anymore. The love she felt for him was gone. Thats the problem will they ever figure out how to solve it? To see if it could work out for them to be together?

Bryce and Juliannas Point of View

Juli Baker belives that one day she will kiss Bryce and that they will be together climbing the sycamore tree up on the hill. Ever since she saw Bryce, Juli has been in love with him. Unfortunately, Bryce has never felt the same. He thinks Juli Baker is a weird. "What kind of freak raises chickens and sits in trees for fun?" says Bryce. Then, in eighth grade, everything changes. Bryce begins to like Juli and her unusual interests. And Juli starts to think that maybe Bryce's blue eyes are as empty as the rest of Bryce seems to be. So in the end their lives get Flipped.
